At long last, we have navigated numerous technical difficulties and have uploaded some videos of our press conferences.
On August 13, the day we learned of Judge Gray’s decision to grant both the City’s and our injunctions, and our last full day on the site, we held a press conference at the front gate. Because so much media attention focused on the crux of our legal argument – the Jefferson Salamander – this press conference was organized to provide a broader understanding of why people took this action.
Outlined in the press conference is the relationship between non-Native and Native people and our responsibilities to the land, the City’s shady relationship with the Ministry of Natural Resources, the larger context of climate change, and inspiration from similar land struggles around the Great Lakes area.
Please give them a view and let others know about it.
